By Percy Flower

If you are thinking of building a chicken coop then I would highly suggest reading this article before you get your hands dirty. In this article I will share 3 important tips that you should know before you start constructing your chicken coop.

Many people start building their coops without following these tips that I will share in this article. And most of them get disappointed results. So I really recommend following these tips to avoid disappointment.

So without any ado, below are the 3 top tips to improve chicken coop performance:

1. Choose the size of your coop according to the number of chickens you have. Keep in mind that over time the family of your birds will increase! It is suggested that 1 chicken occupies 4 square feet, now multiply this number by the number of your chickens population (or predicted population).

2. Build and place your coop on an inclined surface, this will make your life much easier in the long run. The inclination of the surface will facilitate the cleaning and maintenance of the chicken house. The indent will clean all the rubbish made by the birds, because it will fall down naturally.

3. Build your coop with plenty of windows; this will ensure that your chicken can breathe smoothly. Because if they don't then there is a risk of them becoming cannibal killers. And this is the last thing you want that to happen.

So there you go - 3 highly effective tips to maximize the chicken coop performance.
