Hatching Pekins is the same as any other breed of poultry, and you should get good success with them when doing so artificialy.

The following diagram shows the size and looks of a chick each day of incubation. (Note: it is taken from a white leghorn so weight may differ slighlty)

There is no way to tell if an egg contains the correct amounts of minerals, vitamins, fats, proteins and so on, but you can do your best to make sure only the best eggs are incubated.

Only eggs of an even shape should be set, with no blemishes and they must appear perfectly formed shape wise.

Eggs that are too small may produce smaller, weeker chicks than larger eggs. The better the shape and size of the egg, the more chance of getting a strong healthy chick!
